My Why

I never thought I’d figure out how to have a healthy relationship with food, eating, my body, and my weight, but I never gave up. And I was finally able to find an answer/solution to my question, “How can I eat in a healthy way, be at a weight that is right for me, and not obsess about food?

Through a lot of trial and error and asking for help, I discovered life and weight coaching and a non-diet approach to weight loss. I discovered thought work and coaching.

I was inspired to become a life and weight coach because I knew that there were many, many women just like me. Women who find themselves in midlife, having experienced a lifetime of weight gain, loss, and regain, an unhealthy relationship with food and eating, and carrying more weight on their bodies than they wanted. I want them to all know that there is a solution that works because it is about self-respect and autonomy. It isn’t about rules and points and grams and calories. It is about honoring ourselves, loving ourselves, and taking action for ourselves (not against ourselves).

I noticed that, like me, a lot of women who’ve struggled with weight and food issues since childhood are demoralized, fed up, and have given up or really want to. I want them to know there’s a solution.

What these women are missing is someone who understands them, can guide them in making consistent shifts in their thinking (questioning beliefs that don’t serve them), their feelings, and their actions to get results that matter to them.

I am passionate about helping women understand that the key to sustainable weight loss isn’t through the perfect diet. It’s actually the opposite. Rather, it is in understanding the thoughts and beliefs that result in overeating and weight gain, understanding that thoughts cause feelings, and that everything they do is because of how they feel and hope to feel. And that all of their actions then create their results.

My mission is to coach, guide, and support women in midlife to change their relationships with themselves. When they change their relationships with themselves, they change the way they think about food, eating, and if they want to lose weight, they will. They can make sustainable changes in their lives that result in healthier living. They will recognize the power of their own minds. They will be in awe of themselves and their own transformations.
